Stubborn…I think that is the best word to describe him!  But what would I know right?  Henry has been suffering a little from the rear brackets rubbing on his cheeks as I did, and I am sure most other new braces wearers do too. “Use the wax Henry” I implored Obi-wan Kenobi style…but alas his rationale was that his mouth would toughen up and if he used the wax it would just be as bad when he didn’t use it. Quite naively I believed that as I got towards the end of braces I would have less hardware in my mouth, but now that many of the teeth are just about where we want them, it’s important to minimize their opportunity to move – so as well as my recontour I also received new wires (upper and lower), a chain from 6 to 6 to stop any spaces from opening up, and posts. The awful chewing gum debacle Well I have read on other forums advice that you can use chewing gum on sore areas if you have no wax available, and this was exactly the predicament I found myself in one morning.
