It is so interesting to feel (and see) the movements in my teeth. When the wire was fitted it was surprisingly crooked as it wove it's way through the brackets that Dr Levinson had placed. Now just a few weeks later, the wire is almost a perfect straight line. Well it’s been nearly 2 weeks now so what wisdom do I have to impart? Applying lipstick requires a change in technique as the terrain is a bit more bumpy from the brackets under the lip. Washing your face also requires a more gentle technique around the mouth and cheek area. At this point in time the letter ‘F’ as it crops up in some words sounds a little strange, a bit like just blowing air, a guess the lip has to stretch a bit more to make the right sound. I noticed this when I was singing to the radio! Oh my goodness!!!! Well let me just say that there are absolutely NO elegant ways to apply wax to your teeth…none! You take a blob of wax, about the size of a pea, and roll it around to soften it a little, then flatten it just a bit and hope it sticks to your finger. You then pull your cheek out and suck in some air to ‘dry’ the tooth and dive in… Your finger and thumb both have to get in there (not easy when the cheek is ulcerated already I can tell you!) and squeeze the wax onto/around the bracket ...
